PM-4
The Ecklund-Harrison pasteurize Process Monitor 4 (PM-4) is the next generation PU tunnel pasteurizer beer and beverage pasteurization monitoring computer. In response to your needs, we have eliminated the need to calibrate and recharge the internal battery. It is the first computerized pasteurization monitor that was offered to the brewing industry over 30 years ago. The PM-4 offers the utmost in ease of use and reliability today. The PM-4 is housed in a waterproof NEMA rated enclosure. The window in the housing cover allows for the display of operational data. This gives the user immediate results of the product run without having to interface to a computer. A water tight electrical connector allows for the attachment of interchangeable Precision RTD temperature probes. The PM-4 communicates with a computer using an IR (Infra Red) reader attached to a serial or USB port. The PM-4 utilizes extremely low power components and operates with a very high amperage hour rated internal battery. The PM-4 will operate hundreds of hours before battery replacement is needed. The PM-4 travels with the product through the tunnel pasteurizer. A product container (can or bottle) is placed in a sample basket and the temperature of the cold spot is monitored with a precision RTD temperature probe attached to the PM-4. A second precision RTD temperature probe monitors the ambient spray temperature. Product temperature as a function of time is measured and used to calculate Pasteurization Units (PUs). Spray and product temperatures, maximum cold spot temperature, and elapsed time are all recorded and saved in memory. To store a permanent record of the product run, the PM-4 may be interfaced to a Windows® based computer using the optional IR reader. Our Windows® compatible software provides the capability to store data, produce screen displays, and print graphs. The PM-4 software is very user friendly and easy to install.

*A PU derived from the Lethal Rate Curve, is logarithmically a function of time and temperature.
One PU will be delivered if 140 degrees F (60 Degrees C) is maintained for one minute.
PU's change with temperature by an order of magnitude (x10) for each 12.5 Degree F (6.9 Degree C) change in temperature and increase with increasing temperature.

PM-4 Features

Onboard Liquid Crystal Display permits the operator to immediately view:

1) Starting Product and Spray Temperatures.
2) Maximum Product and Spray Temperatures.
3) Total Run Time.
4) Total Pasteurization Units accumulated.
5) TAT (Time Above Temperature).

Our software permits the user to recall the graphs and detailed summaries for analysis and printing.
Automatic internal self calibration eliminates manual calibration errors.
Run data is stored in database format enabling a user familiar with Microsoft Access® to produce custom reports.
The Z factor is software changeable.
Probes from earlier pasteurization monitors may be used with the PM-4.
Communication with a PC is accomplished by IR (Infra Red).
Internal battery never needs recharging (annual replacement required).
Real time clock.
Date and time stamp on printouts.
Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature measurement is software changeable.
LED light blinks during sampling to assure operator the unit is in RUN mode.
TAT (Time Above Temperature) threshold is software changeable.
PM-4 interface software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, Professional 2000, XP and Vista.
